NEW FREEDIVING WORLD RECORD
F.R.E.E. is happy to announce that on June 10th, at 11:55 AM, in the waters off Kas, Antalya, a town located on Mediterranean coast of Turkey, a new Freediving World Record was established. David Lee, a 28 year old diver from Jamaica set the new record in the Unassisted Constant Ballast category for men. Mr. Lee reached a depth of 65 meters/213 feet in a total dive time of 2:14 minutes. This dive improves on the previous record of 63 meters/207 that Mr. Lee himself had set just five days earlier.
The record was verified by F.R.E.E. judges Gianluca Cora (Italy) and Arthur Zaloga (Lithuania). Mr. Cora acted as surface judge where he verified compliance with all surface procedures and received the confirmation tag from the diver, and Mr. Zaloga was positioned at the goal depth where he witnessed the confirmation tag retrieval and verified compliance with all underwater procedures.
This is Mr. Lee’s 5th record in this category, having become the diver who set the first official record. F.R.E.E. congratulates David Lee on this remarkable accomplishment and wishes him continuous success in the future. We wish to thank the Organizing Committee for the hospitality extended to our judges and congratulate the Safety Diving team for a well done job.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
F.R.E.E. (Freediving Regulations & Education Entity)
Dear freedivers of the world,
F.R.E.E. is happy to announce 2 New World Records. Yasemin Dalkilic (Turkey) and David Lee (Jamaica) have set female and male Salt Water Records in the Unassisted Constant Ballast category. Both dives took place in the waters off the small town of Kardamena, on the island of Kos, Greece.
David Lee established a new record by reaching a depth of 47 meters/154 feet in a total dive time of 1:49 minutes. His dive took place at 12:04 PM on Sunday, October 21st. With this dive, Mr. Lee has improved on the previous record of 46 meters/151 feet that had been set in a joint effort by Mr. Erez Beatus (Israel) and Mr. Trevor Hutton (South Africa) earlier this year.
On the same day, Yasemin Dalkilic attempted to set the first official female record in this category by diving to a depth of 40 meters/131 feet. However, she was disqualified after an accidental violation of the F.R.E.E. rules while retrieving the confirmation tag at the goal depth. One day later, on Monday, October 22nd, at 11:15 AM, Ms. Dalkilic attempted the record again and successfully completed her dive to 40 meters in a total dive time of 1:56 minutes.
F.R.E.E. appointed judges Erman Akarsu (Australia) and Arthur Zaloga (Lithuania) to represent our organization for these events. Mr. Akarsu was positioned at the surface for both records where he received the confirmation tag from both Mr. Lee and Ms. Dalkilic. Mr. Zaloga was positioned at the bottom where he witnessed the arrival of both divers to the goal depth and the tag retrireview manuver.
F.R.E.E. wishes to congratulate both divers on this accomplishment and thanks them and their Organizing Committee for the hospitality extended to our judges. Both, David Lee and Yasemin Dalkilic will attempt two more world records in the upcoming days. We wish them good luck. Safe diving to all.

NEW FREEDIVING WORLD RECORD
F.R.E.E. is happy to announce that a New World Record has been established under our verification. The record has been set in the Unassisted Constant Ballast category, in salt-water and by a male diver. David Lee, a 25-year-old Jamaican set a new mark in the waters of Port Antonio, on the North East coast of his native Jamaica. David reached the depth of 45 meters/148 feet and returned to the surface in a total dive time of 1:40 minutes. This record has historic significance for both F.R.E.E. and David Lee. F.R.E.E. is proud to be the first, and so far, only organization that recognizes and verifies this category. Unassisted Constant Ballast represents what we believe is the purest and most physical form of freediving. David Lee has been the first diver to request our verification for an attempt in this category. We congratulate David, not only for his phenomenal achievement, but also for being the first one to give this category an official try.
For this record F.R.E.E. appointed international judges Bob Hambidge and Jarrod Jablonski, both from the USA. Mr. Hambidge was positioned at the bottom, where he witnessed as David retrieved the confirmation tag from a bottom plate. Mr. Jablonski acted as the surface judge where he received the tag from David upon surfacing. Both judges report that all regulations and procedures were strictly complied with, and have declared this new record as official. On behalf of both our judges, F.R.E.E. wishes to thank David Lee and his Organizing Committee for the warm and friendly treatment given to our judges. Finally, F.R.E.E. also wishes to thank trainer Rudi Castineyra, who guided David for this record, for his continued contribution to freediving.
As is customary with F.R.E.E., we will reserve a space on our webpage on the section “Official Records/Records Documented” to publish a more detailed story and images about this accomplishment as soon as we receive them from the freediver and his Organizing Committee.
Safe diving to all.
